Inua Kesho Yangu “Raise Up My Tomorrow” project

This is the project that aims to support the street children who most of the time are facing a lot of challenges, especially the challenge of getting meals, shelter, and skills/activities that can help them move from the street. The project plan is to help the street children get meals per day, shelter, and skills that will help them improve their lives, and so far the project managed to provide food to more than 50 street children of Iringa.

Initially, the project started to be implemented in September 2023 by the founders of the WYCDO who later invited other members to join the force in December 2023.

The project was divided into three phases,  the first phase which started in September 2023 based on providing basic needs (food, clothes, and shelter) to 10 street children through the raised funds and donations from the donors. Still, the project is in this phase which is targeted to last for eleven months (September 2023 to July 2024).

The second phase is based on providing the skills/training/classes to the street children. The skills/training/classes that will be provided to the street children will help them to choose a path that will help them to develop their careers and make changes to depend on themselves later and support building the economy of the country. The second phase lasts according to the age of the street children, those who will go to attend the government schools will follow the government procedures and class arrangements and those who will need direct training based on several skills like tailoring, barbershop and etc, the training will take six months.

The last phase is the support phase for the street children who changed their lives and decided to move out of the street, and this phase is endless. The support phase includes recommending the street children to different organizations where they can work and giving working materials to those who will acquire certain skills and are ready to start employing themselves.

This project until now was conducted by using the funds and donations from the stakeholders of WYCDO who support the organization by providing food to the street children.
